DIY Pillowcase

I’m so excited about the mini projects I get to complete. Eventhough, I really should be doing other things.

I bought this 16″x24″ pillow from Ikea and decided to make my toddler his own pillow case, instead of using a standard pillow in his bed, since they look so huge. He doesn’t really use a pillow, but I feel pillows and blankets in the bed help to make the space a bit more cozy and warm.

So, I stopped by my favorite fabric store and they helped me pick out a coordinating fabric to go with his nursery. I love this store so much! Beth, the owner, also gave me the idea of using one of my scraps as my accent fabric. I decided to go with the fabric I used for the skirt, since I had the most leftovers and I liked keeping it all gray. Plus, I think I have way more yellow in the room than I planned.

I used this tutorial that I found in my google search that allowed for hidden seams. (They also have a video.) Although, the next time I do a French seam, I’m opting for a 1/2″ seam to finish it off.
